LinkedIn LIVE videos are webinars that are broadcasted live on LinkedIn, with the ability to watch the playback later. The webinar host can read your comments and you can interact with other participants, but as a participant, you are not on screen as you would be on a Zoom call.
HOW TO WATCH A LINKEDIN LIVE:
- Make sure you are following the person or company page on LinkedIn. (or, in this case, YouTube) For example, if you wanted to watch me on LinkedIn Live during my next broadcast, make sure you are following Christine Dykeman, MS, SHRM-CP, PHR, PMP on LinkedIn.
- Be ON LinkedIn a FEW MINUTES before the conversation begins. When my livestream begins, you should see a notification from LinkedIn. If not, go to my profile page. For my live streams, go to Christine Dykeman, MS, SHRM-CP, PHR, PMP & scroll to activity to find the video. At the start of a LIVE conversation, you will see a “countdown” to the stream, with music, in the big background photo on my profile.
- As soon as you join the live stream, like the video and add a comment to introduce yourself. Something like: "hello from the Jersey Shore" (this helps to create more visibility for YOU in the broadcast... plus creates a nice warm happy feeling for the broadcaster!)
- Can't make it live? They are automatically recorded! Just watch the live stream later to get all of the great tips and information! Just go to my activity feed and you should see a post with the playback.
