Trump pauses Mexico tariffs for one month after agreement on border troops
President Donald Trump on Monday said he is pausing for one month his new 25% tariffs on goods imported from Mexico after that country’s president agreed to immediately send 10,000 soldiers to the U.S. border to prevent drug trafficking from Mexico. The announcement of the pause came two days after Trump slapped 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada, as well as a 10% tariff on goods imported from China. (CNBC)
Federal judge blocks Trump plan to freeze spending on grants, loans
A federal district judge issued a temporary restraining order on Friday, blocking the Trump administration from moving forward with a proposed spending freeze on grants and loans. Chief Judge John J. McConnell Jr. of the U.S. District Court in Rhode Island wrote in the 13-page ruling the administration’s "actions violate the Constitution and statutes of the United States." The Judge wrote: "Federal law specifies how the Executive should act if it believes that appropriations are inconsistent with the President’s priorities – it must ask Congress, not act unilaterally." Microsoft and CoreWeave announced as founding partners at NJ AI Hub
Gov. Phil Murphy and Princeton University President Christopher Eisgruber announced Friday that Microsoft and CoreWeave have joined the state's new NJ AI Hub as partners. The AI Hub, designed to attract AI researchers, industry leaders and startup companies, will be located along Route 1 – New Jersey’s innovation corridor – at 619 Alexander Road in West Windsor, in space provided by Princeton University.
