Instead, it will feature a continuation of the networking that took place on the train to D.C. – with a cocktail reception featuring plenty of food. The Fed today is expected to deliver its last rate cut for a while
The Federal Reserve on Wednesday is expected to cut interest rates for the third time this year, in what could be the last rate cut for months. The U.S. economy remains resilient, with the job market holding steady and economic growth forging ahead. But inflation’s progress to the Fed’s 2% target may have stalled in recent months. Put together, economic figures show the Fed doesn’t need to be in any rush to lower borrowing costs after this week – a stance communicated by the Fed’s leader recently. (CNN)
Huge spending bill unveiled in Congress provides more than $100 billion in disaster aid
Congressional leaders unveiled a year-end package Tuesday that would provide more than $100 billion in disaster aid and give lawmakers more time to wrap up overdue work on government funding, the farm bill and a handful of other issues they decided not to finish. President Biden asked Congress to approve nearly $100 billion in emergency aid to bolster the accounts of several agencies helping residents, small businesses, farmers, and local and state governments recover from dozens of natural disasters. New Jersey’s farmland tax break may get tougher rules
State lawmakers advanced legislation that would create a new nine-member Farmland Assessment Review Commission to oversee requirements for claiming the state’s sometimes-contentious farmland tax break. The legislation would determine the number of acres needed to receive the benefit and other requirements, including total sales of crops or livestock. The tax breaks began in the 1960s to preserve farmland as land values grew. But now, legislators are concerned the tax benefit is being misused. (NJ Spotlight News)

One executive said he holds quarterly one-on-one meetings. Another holds weekly team huddles that last no more than 15 minutes.
