Three key issues with three weeks to go in NJ governor’s race

With just over three weeks to go in New Jersey’s race for governor, U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-11th) and Republican former state Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli are hoping their efforts in the final stretch of the campaign will be enough to send them to Trenton. Here’s where the major-party candidates stand on three of the top issues. NJ voter registration deadline is today

New Jerseyans looking to pick the state’s next governor must register by today, Oct. 14, to vote in this year’s gubernatorial race. The election is Nov. 4. Early in-person voting begins Saturday, Oct. 25. Mail-in ballots are being accepted now. (New Jersey Monitor)

International Monetary Fund upgrades US growth outlook

The U.S. economy will grow a bit more this year than previously forecast as tariffs have so far proved less disruptive than expected, the International Monetary Fund said Tuesday, though the full impact of those policies is still emerging. The U.S. economy will expand 2% in 2025, the IMF projected in its influential semi-annual forecast, the World Economic Outlook. That is slightly higher than the 1.9% forecast in the IMF’s last update in July and 1.8% in April. (The Associated Press)

Fed's Powell addresses economy pulled between risks to growth, jobs and prices

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Tuesday delivers his last scheduled remarks before the Fed's next meeting with the economy enjoying stronger-than-expected growth and a recent jump in productivity, but still adjusting to tariff and immigration policies that economists worry could lead to both higher inflation and higher unemployment. The Fed is also facing a drought of official data amid the government shutdown that has delayed the September jobs report and other key statistics. An update on consumer prices is now scheduled for Oct.24, before the Fed's Oct.28-29 meeting. (Reuters)

How to simplify employee security regulations and improve your company's cybersecurity

The purpose of computer security guidelines is to keep the computers, laptops, and other devices you provide your employees secure. They’re particularly important in today’s digital era, as cyberthreats are more prevalent than ever. While company computer security guidelines can make your computers safer, they’re often confusing, misleading or simply incorrect. Here are some key computer security guidelines you should follow as a small business owner or entrepreneur.
